FREC Bangkok ร่วมกับ สำนักงานเขตป้อมปราบศัตรูพ่าย Prince Palace Hotel ชุมชนมัสยิดมหานาค ชุมชนดำรงรักษ์ โรงเรียนวัดสิตาราม และ Nawat Lertsawaengkit ทำงานศิลปะบนกำแพงริมคลองมหานาค บริเวณใกล้ท่าเรือโบ๊เบ๊ สื่อถึงชีวิตและความฝันของเด็กๆริมคลอง

ปกติแล้วการทำ Placemaking Project ของ Urban Studies Lab นั้น เราจะมีการทำงานร่วมกับผู้คนในชุมชน ซึ่งสำหรับโครงการนี้ เราได้วางแผนไว้ว่าจะให้ศิลปินออกแบบผลงานแล้วเชิญคนในชุมชนมาร่วมกันทาสี แต่เนื่องจากสถานการณ์โควิดเราจึงทำการเปลี่ยนแผน เป็นการแจก Art Package ให้กับเด็กๆในชุมชนไปวาดรูปเกี่ยวกับครอบครัว ความฝัน หรือของเล่นของพวกเขา แล้วเลือกบางผลงานมาเปลี่ยนเป็นภาพที่เหมือนจริงขึ้นโดยศิลปิน นวัต เลิศแสวงกิจ ซึ่งสำหรับเราแล้ว วิธีการทำงานร่วมกบผู้คนแบบไม่เจอกันนี้ ก็ได้ผลงานที่น่าพอใจ ชื่นใจ ไม่แพ้ผลงานที่ได้จากการมีส่วนร่วมแบบปกติเลย

FREC Bangkok together with, Pomprapstrupai District office, Prince Palace Hotel Bangkok, Masjid Mahanak community, Damrongrak community, Sitaram Temple School, and wall mural artist Nawat Lertsawaengkit just finished our lastest placemaking project on the wall near Bobae pier.

It is USL's protocol to engage with the community for our placemaking projects. We initially planned to invite people from the surrounded communities to paint the wall together. But due to the COVID-19 situation, we need to change our plan. We gave away drawing packages to the community leaders for them to disperse the package to the children. The package invited the children to draw anything about their family, favorite toys, or their dreams. Then, our artist selected some of them to portray on the all in a more realistic language. The outcome and the entire process is as engaging and empowered as the usual one.
